Carleton University aims to become a zero-waste institution by diverting at least 90% of waste from landfill. To achieve this, the university has adopted several strategies, such as replacing individual office bins with central waste, recycling, and organic waste stations. Recent waste audits have revealed that over 70% of the landfill waste produced on campus could be diverted to recycling or compost. This, along with other changes, is an important step towards achieving a zero-waste campus.
