Over two years ago Carleton University recognized the need for a consistent look and feel throughout university sites while providing website maintainers with an easy to use web-interface.  Out of that recognition grew the Carleton CMS Migration Project.  At this time, the plan was to migrate 103 websites by end of April, 2010.  With the combined efforts of a hardworking team and enthusiastic clients, today we launched our 103rd site – over two months ahead of schedule!

So now what?  Off to Mexico to enjoy sunshine and margaritas?  Hardly!

Since the initial identification of 103 sites our overall target has grown from 103 sites to (roughly) 135.  We’ll continue to work hard migrating these 30 odd sites over.

So even though we have reached our projected target we still have a lot of work ahead of us.  Given our current situation – a growing client base (we currently provide support to over 180 individuals), the increased demand for online publishing (more and more departments are moving away from print publications) and the need for innovative and cutting edge web development  – we expect to be very busy in the next phase of our project.

A big cheers to everyone who played a part in this remarkable success!
