Accessibility is of the utmost importance to Carleton University.

When it comes to web accessibility there are essentially two parts – the code and the content.  Here in Web Services we provide the accessible code as part of your CMS website.  All of our templates meet AODA requirements.

The content is up to the web administrator of each individual website. When it comes to creating accessible web content we suggest you focus on six main areas, which are outlined in our Guide to Creating Accessible Web Content Guide.

Resources to evaluate your website’s accessibility

  • WAVE is a free web accessibility evaluation tool provided by WebAIM to aid in the web accessibility evaluation process.
  • W3C provides a complete list of web accessibility evaluation tools.

There are many resources available to help understand requirements to make your website accessible to all.
