EDIT-STEM Initiative Secures $3.3M to Advance Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion in STEM
We’re excited to highlight the success of the EDIT-STEM initiative, a multi-institutional research effort addressing persistent challenges in equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The project has secured over $3.3 million in research support, including an NSERC Alliance Society Grant and Mitacs Accelerate funding, with contributions from partners such as Engineers Canada, the National Research Council of Canada, and IVADO. EDIT-STEM brings together interdisciplinary researchers — including ALT Games faculty — to design and evaluate interactive technologies that promote meaningful, community-engaged approaches to EDI in STEM environments.
