Haniyeh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Guilan and a Master of Science in Water Engineering and Hydraulic Structures from the Sharif University of Technology in 2022. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Carleton University.

Her academic work focuses on the fundamental principles of hydrodynamics and their practical application in the renewable energy domain. Haniyeh’s research expertise lies in the numerical modeling of stream flows, power estimation, and the integration of machine learning to enhance hydrokinetic energy assessments. She is dedicated to developing innovative, data-driven solutions for complex hydraulic challenges and sustainable energy resource management.
