Somayeh “TBD” Norouziyan (PDRA, she/her) joined the #BarryLab in July 2024. Currently, she is working with Lam Research on low oxidation state molybdenum precursor chemistry for area-selective ALD.

She was a Mitacs PDF at the University of Ottawa (January 2024 to June 2024), researching new physical and chemical amine-based adsorbents for CO2 adsorption under the supervision of Professor Abdel Sayari.

During her PhD under the supervision of Professor Darrin Richeson, she explored 3D organometallic complexes for various catalytic purposes, including H2 generation, CO2 reduction, and nitrite reduction.

She completed her Master’s degree at the University of Tehran, Iran, focusing on polymeric-based membranes.

Somayeh has extensive experience in inorganic, organic, and polymer synthesis, electrocatalysis, membrane technology, and material characterization.
