Eden “The Bean” Goodwin (NSERC PGS-D scholar, They/Them or She/Her) is a PhD student studying vapour phase etch, deposition, and surface modification techniques through in-situ quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) measurements.

They are part of a Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) and Carbon to Metal Coating Institute (C2MCI) research collaboration with the Ragogna group from Western University and the Crudden research lab from Queen’s University investigating the roles of N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) as small molecule inhibitors.

She is also working with the Ragogna group on measuring the oxygen-scavenging ability of phosphorus-containing molecular layer deposited films.

If you’d like to learn more about their research, feel free to email and check out her most recent paper.
