Josh “Downtown” Brown (PDRA, he/him) joined the lab in April 2025 to work with SRC (and Dex) to design ALD precursor molecules of group 3 metals.
Josh completed his PhD in Chemistry in 2024 under the supervision of Professor Darrin Richeson at the University of Ottawa. There, he focused on advancing homogeneous electrocatalytic mechanisms for hydrogen production from inorganic complexes in a variety of metal-ligand combinations.
Prior to his PhD, Josh earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Ottawa, where he developed a strong foundation in inorganic chemistry and materials science.
With expertise in electrocatalysis, inorganic and organic synthesis, and an array of characterization techniques, Josh is passionate about using his skills to drive innovation in the cleantech industry.
