Project Description:
My project aims to determine appropriate operational parameters for a submerged, ultrafiltration membrane in order to reduce the frequency and extent of membrane fouling. This project, which builds on the research carried out by past group members, investigates the effects of various modified flux conditions, including membrane relaxation, on membrane fouling with an overall goal of maximizing the volume of water produced, while maintaining a low level of fouling and without compromising water quality.
