Knowledge Areas for Climate Adaptation: an online ICOMOS University Form with panel discussions

We have now launched the Just Transitions: Heritage Education for Climate Adaptation website, including the programme and registration for the ICOMOS University Forum on June 3-4 on “Knowledge Areas for Climate Adaptation.” This event is organized by the Canadian academic members of the Climate Heritage Network, including Athabasca University, Université de Montréal and Carleton University. 

We encourage you to register, and share this invitation to the first North American ICOMOS University Forum with your colleagues and networks. The Forum is being held completely online and without charge. Two sets of panel discussions will take place between 11:00 and 14:00 EDT each day on Friday June 3 and
Saturday June 4.

A combination of twelve invited speakers and panelists will address key concepts, methods and resources that can help transform the work of heritage educators in transitions towards changing times. Experts from multiple related disciplines will discuss critical themes for capacity building and training, including Climate impacts and vulnerability assessment, Urban and building resilience and adaptation, Materials resource reuse and equity, Climate justice and Indigenous knowledge and governance 

Panelists and speakers include: Cathy Daly, Courtney Vaughan, Deniz Ikiz Kaya,  Georgina Cundill-Kemp, Lorna Crowshoe, Lori Ferris, Mark Thompson Brandt, Oriel Prizeman, Paloma Guzman, Rohit Jigyasu, Thea Dickinson, and Will Megarry.
