Dr. Anne Trépanier’s latest book De l’hydre au castor (Septentrion, 2024) is awarded the Prix Pierre-Savard 2025 in addition to the Best book in Canadian Studies 2024.
The Pierre Savard Awards are designed to recognize and promote outstanding scholarly monographs on a Canadian topic. Pierre Savard (1936–1998), well-known historian, Professor and Canadianist, contributed greatly to the development of Canadian Studies. He was ICCS President from 1983 to 1985.The awards form part of a strategy that is aimed at promoting, especially throughout the Canadian academic community, works that have been written by members of the Canadian Studies international network. The awards are intended to designate exceptional books that contribute to excellent scholarship in Canadian Studies and will be awarded only once to the same person, as author or co-author.
Best book in Canadian Studies: This prize is awarded annually for an outstanding scholarly book on a Canadian subject and that best advances our knowledge and understanding of Canada and Canadian Studies. This award is intended to recognize work written by members of the CSN.
