Jiyoung is a critical race feminist and interdisciplinary scholar whose research and teaching interests are migration, feminism, critical race theories, transnationalism, decolonial feminist theories, critical multiculturalism, Canadian Studies, Korean studies, and comparative studies. She understands teaching, research and activism to be integrated practices, and her identity as a feminist scholar and activist has been consistent in linking her grassroots experiences with her scholarly work. She is actively involved in building up intersectional pedagogies, which embrace diverse students’ experiences.
