CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: CHA PUBLIC HISTORY PRIZE 2021/2022

The Public History Group of the Canadian Historical Association is welcoming nominations for its annual Public History Prize – deadline for nominations: 21 April 2023.
The Prizes recognize outstanding public historical work in Canada, and are judged on the following five criteria:
- Value and impact for intended audiences;
- Collaboration with relevant communities / constituents;
- Contribution to Canadian public understanding of history;
- Sound and rigorous approach to research and presentation;
- Originality and creativity
A broad range of content and approaches are eligible for this prize: books, exhibits, films, games, art, interactive presentations, educational resources, walking tours, and more will all be considered.
Nominated work will have been completed during the calendar years 2021 or 2022, and we especially welcome nominations for projects that deal with previously underrepresented or erased histories.
Please submit your nomination using this form by 21 April 2023. You may nominate your own work!
Please be sure to include responses outlining how the project relates to each of the five criteria, and links to supporting materials and pertinent media (for example, images or excerpts of the work). The prize winner will be announced during the annual general meeting of the Canadian Historical Association, at the end of May, at York University.

Le Groupe d’histoire appliquée de la Société historique du Canada accepte les candidatures pour son Prix annuel d’histoire publique – date limite pour les candidatures : 21 avril 2023.
Les prix reconnaissent des travaux historiques publics exceptionnels au Canada et sont jugés en fonction des cinq critères suivants :
- Valeur et impact sur les publics visés ;
- Collaboration avec les communautés et les groupes d’intérêt concernés ;
- Contribution à la compréhension de l’histoire par le public canadien ;
- Approche saine et rigoureuse de la recherche et de la présentation ;
- Originalité et créativité
Un large éventail de contenus et d’approches est éligible pour ce prix : livres, expositions, films, jeux, art, présentations interactives, ressources éducatives, visites guidées, etc. seront pris en considération.
Les travaux proposés doivent avoir été réalisés au cours des années civiles 2021 ou 2022, et les projets qui traitent d’histoires précédemment sous-représentées ou effacées sont particulièrement bienvenus.
Veuillez soumettre votre candidature à l’aide de ce formulaire avant le 21 avril 2023. Vous pouvez proposer votre propre travail!
Veuillez inclure des réponses expliquant comment le projet est lié à chacun des cinq critères, ainsi que des liens vers des documents d’appui et des médias pertinents (par exemple, des images ou des extraits de l’œuvre). Le nom du lauréat ou de lauréate sera annoncée lors de l’assemblée générale annuelle de la Société historique du Canada, à la fin du mois de mai, à l’Université York.
