Designing Domestic Dining explores the intersections of food, memory, interior spaces, and domestic technology for Anatolian communities in Canada.

It was supported by a Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Partnership Engage grant, a SSHRC Exchange grant, the Internship-Carleton University Research Experience for Undergraduate Students (I-CUREUS) program, and the Carleton Centre for Public History. Our highly collaborative, interdisciplinary team was comprised of students and faculty from Carleton University, Algonquin College, as well as curators from Ingenium: Canada Science and Technology Museum.

Resources created from this project include:

Booklet – viewable online or as a downloadable PDF

Recipes – recipes from each of the Designing Domestic Dining hosts

Educational Recipes – Intended for teachers who want to bring some of the research methods from this project into the classroom. Linked are 3 different activities to choose from, each targeting a different research method used within this project. Each activity can be tailored for age groups from grades 1-8.
