Background and Opportunity

L’Oréal Canada is pleased to announce that if you are a successful recipient of the 2016 L’Oréal Canada For Women in Science Research Excellence Fellowships, you will have a 1 out of 2 chances of having your application referred to apply for the ‘L’Oréal-UNESCO International Rising Talents’ Fellowship, worth 15 000 euros. Fifteen grants will be given per year, covering each of the five UNESCO regions: Africa & Arab States, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America. If you are successful in receiving the International Rising Talents Fellowship, you will be asked to participate at the International Awarding ceremony held in Paris in March 2017, for an entire week (travel expenses will be paid for by L’Oréal Canada), where you will be filmed, interviewed and awarded this fellowship. Upon notification, applicants must submit their own application electronically through the online platform: www.fwis.fr

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be female Canadian citizens or permanent residents;
  • Candidates must be starting or currently enrolled in research at the post-doctoral level;
  • Research must be carried out under the auspices of an academic supervisor at a Canadian host institution/organization;
  • Applicants must not have previously held a L’Oréal Canada For Women in Science Research Excellence Fellowship, with the support of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO.

Funding Available

  • Maximum amount: CAD$20,000
  • Project duration: Two (2) post-doctoral fellowships available, tenable for one academic year. The duration of the proposed study/research must be a maximum of 12 months.

Please note that the top-ranked female candidate from each Scholarships and Fellowships Selection Committee who is awarded and accepts an NSERC PDF will be invited, via email in March, to apply for the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science – NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship Supplement. Candidates will be sent a Secure Submission site link in order to submit an application.
