The Embassy of the Republic of Korea presents its compliments to the Council of Ontario Universities and has the honor to inform the latter that the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea will invite Canadian students to participate in the “2017 Global Korea Scholarship: Korean Government Scholarship Program for International Students for a Graduate Degree” (hereafter called the “2017 Graduate GKS”), which will take place between 2017 and 2020 for the Master’s degree (and between 2017 and 2021 for Doctoral degree).

 

The 2017 Graduate GKS is designed to provide higher education in Korea for international students, with the aim of promoting international exchange in education, as well as mutual friendship amongst the participating countries. The total number of grantees is 3 people (including 1 overseas Korean Adoptee) in Canada.

 

In this regard, the Embassy plans to recommend five qualified candidates to the NIIED for the final selection process. Following the NIIED’s selection, the successful candidates will be expected to arrive in Korea in August, 2017.

 

The Application Guideline  including the candidates’ qualifications, required documents for submission, and all other necessary information are available at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea website. Applicants are advised to submit all required documents/forms by mail to the Korean Embassy, 150 Boteler Street, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, K1N 5A6, no later than March 22nd 2017. Interviews will be held at the Embassy in due course with a limited number of applicants who have met the application deadline and have passed the document screening. It is kindly noted that those who fail to meet one of the qualifications set forth in the Application Guideline will be automatically disqualified.
