A letter in English from the home institution must be issued on official letterhead, dated within the last six months, and confirm that the candidate is currently enrolled in a full‑time program and will remain enrolled upon their return. The letter must also provide the expected completion date of the degree and clearly state the type of program and level of study, the candidate’s full‑time enrolment status (using the exact words “full‑time”), and the anticipated date of degree completion at the home institution.

The letter should explain the nature of the research to be undertaken in Canada and describe how both the candidate and the home institution will benefit from the scholarship program.

The letter should describe the nature and scope of the research collaboration with the student’s home institution, outline the research activities to be completed during the research visit, confirm the supervisor’s willingness to support and mentor the candidate throughout the exchange period, and explain how the Canadian institution, supervisor, and peers will benefit from the exchange.
