Ask an Immigration Advisor Q&A

Carleton’s international students may drop-in to get answers from the Immigration Advising Team in the International Student Services Office (ISSO) and can ask about study permits, co-op work permits, post-graduation work permits, COVID-19 considerations, or anything else on their mind. Please note: questions and any personal information provided by individuals in the session will be shared with all participants. If a student would like a personal consultation with an immigration advisor, please contact the Immigration Advising team at immigration.advising@carleton.ca

Global Dance Party: Classical Indian Dancing

All About Post-Graduation Work Permits

Many international students hope to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) so they can remain in Canada after graduation and gain Canadian work experience. This session, hosted by the Immigration Advising Team in the International Student Services Office (ISSO) explains how to maintain eligibility for the work permit during studies, how to apply (including some tricky rules about timing), and how to make the most of a PGWP.

Life Skills 101 with Nicholas Osborne

Nicholas is a proud Carleton Alumni, having graduated with a degree in Computer Science he is now Capitol Music Group’s (UMG) Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy & Business Development. At Capitol he oversees all digital deals, digital marketing, marketing technologies, advertising, audience insights, and co-leads the Capitol 360 innovation centre.
Nick is focused on finding & developing new revenue opportunities to exploit and extract value from CMG’s copyrights, content, brand assets, and artists. He has been described as a Rebel Computer Grad and is clearly trail-blazing for the rest of us. We are pleased to announce that on Thursday, November 19th, 2020, Nicholas Osborne will be joining the Carleton Community for our Life Skills 101 Series. This event is open to all current students, staff, faculty and alumni.
Ongoing Virtual Photo Contest
Through a Global Lens

What is your Global Lens? The Through a Global Lens Photography Competition invites students to submit original photographs that showcase their international experiences both in Canada and around the world. The theme of this year’s competition is “World Beyond My Doorstep.” Enter your photo by Wednesday, November 18th at 11:59 PM and you could win a $100 gift card for the company of your choice (Amazon, Uber or Indigo). Selected entries will be exhibited on the ISSO website from November 24th to November 27th for voting by the Carleton community.
