The International Research Seed Grant (IRSG) is an internal funding program that supports Carleton faculty members in starting new international research collaborations. The Office of the Vice-President (Research and International) awards up to $10,000 in seed funding for projects with one or more international partners.

The purpose of this two-year grant is to initiate new projects and collaborations (rather than support ongoing ones) that will lead to larger international funding proposals and joint publications within two years. Projects are expected to be innovative, globally focused, and lay the foundation for long-term international partnerships.

Please note that the 2024 competition has a new Application Form and revised Guidelines. Submissions with the old application form will not be accepted. Please see the Guidelines for additional details on eligibilty, evalutation criteria, budget requirements, etc.
