Carleton University and the Embassy of Hungary to Canada are pleased to host the Rubik’s Cube Student Competition. This free in-person event will feature Hungarian architect and professor Ernő Rubik, inventor of the Rubik’s Cube, the popular 3D combination puzzle.
In the spirit of friendly competition, we invite Carleton students to demonstrate their skills by participating in a Rubik’s Cube solving contest, presided over by Ernő Rubik himself. The winner will receive a signed copy of his 2020 book Cubed: The Puzzle of Us All. Details regarding competitor selection and competition rules will be released at a later date.
Special remarks to be made by Her Excellency Mária Vass-Salazar, Ambassador of Hungary, Dr. Benoit-Antoine Bacon, President of Carleton University, and Dr. Rafik Goubran, Vice-President (Research and International). Following a demonstration by professional speed cubers Bill Wang and Thomson Clarke, attendees will also have the privilege to listen to Mr. Rubik speak and to participate in a Q&A session.
Space is limited so act fast! Registration for spectators is not yet open. Event is subject to cancellation at any time.
