Strengthening Carleton’s Indo-Pacific Partnerships (SCIPP) is a Carleton International project that provides funding for research mobility to the Indo-Pacific region. The project offers 10-15 student research fellowships per application cycle (2026-27 and 2027-28). Graduate students are invited to propose research projects of 3 to 4 months at an institution or organization in an eligible country. Whether contributing to the student’s thesis or as part of a faculty-led project, the research must align with the Strategic Objectives of Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy. Successful candidates will receive $10,000 CAD to support travel and living expenses during the research visit.
Carleton International has partnered with institutions in several countries to also offer research placements in specific fields and specialized areas. To see the list of partners, their priority research areas and candidate requirements, click on the button below.
The call for applications is open for 2026-27. Graduate students from any discipline are invited to apply. Please note that only Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents are eligible.
