Personnel Under Pressure: The Charitable Workforce in Crisis

Charities play a foundational role in Canada’s social and economic well-being, but the sector’s workforce is under strain. Issues such as low wages, unpaid overtime, burnout, and high turnover are threatening the sustainability of charitable organizations and the well-being of the people who power them. Drawing on three years of national data, this briefing examines the sector’s weakening labour conditions and the structural underfunding contributing to them.
