Chris Piercey

Director of Cyber & Energy Security Policy and Outreach | Natural Resources Canada

Chris Piercey is Director of Cyber and Energy Security Policy and Outreach at Natural Resources Canada where his responsibilities include providing policy analysis and advice on issues related to the cyber and energy security of Canada’s critical energy infrastructure. In this role, Chris also works with energy sector stakeholders, regulators, provinces and territories, federal departments and US counterparts to advance Canada’s energy security objectives under Canada’s National Cyber Security Strategy and National Critical Infrastructure Protection Plan. Prior to his current role, Chris has advised senior management on issues related to international and domestic oil and gas pipeline regulation, energy markets, and stakeholder engagement.

Prior to joining the Canadian Government is 2006, Chris spent 10 years working in the East Coast offshore oil sector in various technical and business development roles where he gained valuable hands on experience in offshore oil exploration, refinery operations and hydropower development. Chris has a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the College of the North Atlantic as well as a Bachelors Degree in Engineering Technology and Masters of Business Administration from Memorial University.
