Ben McGrath

Research Fellow

Ben is a conservationist, producer and project manager. He holds a BA in Philosophy and a Master of Infrastructure Protection and International Security. His research interests include the psychology of terror, emerging nuclear technology and the deployment of small modular reactors in remote arctic communities. He provides video communication and knowledge translation support for CIPSeR, helping to make critical data accessible to the industry, academic, and government stakeholders that need to see it the most. A firm proponent of equal and easy access to information, Ben helps manage the public-facing aspect of the centre through social media, youtube, and promotion of the Pulse and Praxis Journal and the Pillar and Prose Newsletter. Ben also provides support for the flagship podcast of NC-CIPSeR – Humble & Curious. Across these channels, Ben tries to cut through the flood of distracting and useless “content” to provide accurate, reliable and engaging media that connects and informs viewers without insulting their intelligence. In his free time, Ben enjoys playing volleyball, skiing, playing drums and the bass guitar.
