Empowering Women through Management Education: 25 years of Leadership Stories in Canada’s National Capital Region

Date of ethics clearance: Ethics Clearance for the Collection of Data: # 106561 Expires: April 30, 2018

Management education programs, such as the Management Development Program for Women (MDPW) and the Management Certificate for Women (MCW) are programs that enhance women’s management and leadership skills in a supportive environment. In the programs, women leaders discuss challenges they face, skills they must possess, and tactics needed in management.

We are conducting interviews of approximately 60 – 90 minutes each with Alumni of the aforementioned MDPW and MCW programs. We would like to hear first-hand your thoughts about the program you were a part of and how it helped shape your career as a women leader. We hope that by the end of this research, we are able to highlight how management education has helped women reach their goals and create strong, confident women managers and leaders. We also expect to benefit women in their early stages of their careers by identifying effective strategies for women’s advancement. We also hope to identify supports for women’s career advancement that can be implemented/enhanced by organizations.

Participation in this study can be through a face-to-face interview, a phone interview, or an interview conducted via Skype. If you are interested in participating through a face-to-face, phone or Skype interview please read the details of the study in the information and consent
form and send me an email at merridee.bujaki@carleton.ca or at lorraine.dyke@carleton.ca. If you are aware of other women leaders who are alumni of the MDPW or MCW programs and who might be interested in participating, please forward this invitation to them or ask them to contact Merridee Bujaki.
