Call for proposals: Presenters on equity and inclusion in organizations

The Center for Research on Inclusion at Work (CRIW) is inviting applications from early career researchers for participation in a virtual conference on multidisciplinary perspectives about equity, diversity, and inclusion at work.

The conference is aimed to encourage interdisciplinary discussion, exchange of ideas, and collaboration among scholars who explore inclusion issues at work as they pertain to traditionally underrepresented populations.

Who should apply: We are seeking proposal submissions from graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and faculty early in their careers or new to research on equity, diversity and inclusion.

Disciplines: We encourage contributions from a variety of disciplines, including sociology, social work, psychology, anthropology, business studies, education, gender studies and others, which explore equity and inclusion in a variety of work contexts. Both empirical and analytical contributions are welcome.

Research topics: Of particular interest are papers exploring barriers to employment and organizational socialization for such populations as Black, Indigenous and people of colour (BIPOC), immigrants, women, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQ2+ and youth.

Proposal submission deadline: February 28, 2022

Participation in the conference is free, but you are required to register in order to participate.

Proposal submission instructions

If you wish to present a paper at the conference, please submit in two separate files:

  • a title page with the title of the paper, with the name, position, contact information, institutional affiliation of all authors (see pages 5-7 of last year’s conference program for examples)
  • a 500-word abstract, including a statement of research questions, theoretical framework, methods and the main findings or argument (as relevant for the type of paper you are submitting)
