FPA Conference: Visions for Canada 2042

Held during FPA’s Research Month, this three-night, two-day conference explores a collective vision of Canada in 2042, when Carleton University turns 100. Highlights of this special 75th anniversary event include a film screening and panel discussion, presentations, a keynote presentation by Kiera Ladner, and a closing Gala Dinner.

New Sun Conference on Aboriginal Arts

The 16th Annual New Sun Conference on Aboriginal Arts celebrates the lives of Indigenous artists across a wide spectrum of expression – from painting and poetry to musical performance. Inspiring, insightful, intimate and heartfelt, it is not to be missed!

The 20th Annual Aboriginal Family Festival

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2017, the Aboriginal Family Festival honours cultural and traditional knowledge while teaching leadership skills to Anishinabek children & youth. Dancers range in age from 12 – 18 months to 24 years, with adults participating as mentors. Admission is by donation; open to anyone.

  • A Creative Jam tournament, a 3 hour design charrette showdown.
  • Portfolio Reviews, an opportunity to meet with a creative professional to review your work.
