Nikolai is EERL’s research associate specializing on the methane inventory development in Colombia. He has been a lead researcher for the first-ever measurement-based methane emission inventory for Colombia’s oil and gas sector, and is currently working on the waste sector emissions. He joined the EERL team in 2023 as part of the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP). He graduated from the National University of Colombia, with a B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering, and completed his M.A.Sc. in Sustainable Energy at Carleton University.
