Tips from a Financial Services Insider (eShop)

As the ‘eshop: June 30th is coming!” notices make their way through the Carleton community, people naturally have many questions.  In this series of tips, I am sharing answers to the most commonly asked eShop questions.

Question #6: I used to take a paper ICB to Dining Services Locations (e.g. Bakers) on campus.  What now?

Many departments have been taking paper ICB forms to on campus locations to initiate payment from departmental funding sources.  Some locations include Bakers, Tim Hortons, The Bookstore, and CCS Hardware Services.

This will no longer be an option when the paper ICB form goes away on June 30th.

Will something fill the gap?

Yes!  University Services will be introducing the eCard – a new campus card program for in-person business-related purchases at participating vendors on campus when eShop cannot be used.  Similar to the PCard, this new card will allow you to charge your purchases directly to university funding sources, such as your departmental operating fund.  We anticipate that this new card will be available in July, but in the meantime, the following locations on campus will continue to accept the ICB until the eCard is launched:

  • the Bookstore
  • All Dining Services locations (excluding catering)
  • Parking Pay ‘n Display

As a reminder, if you have a University Purchasing Card, it is already accepted as a form of payment at Bakers and the Bookstore.
