What is it?
In general, compliance means conforming to a rule, such as a specification, policy, standard or law. Regulatory compliance describes the goal that public agencies aspire to achieve in their efforts to ensure that personnel are aware of and take steps to comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Why is this important?
At the University, in addition to the integrity of one’s research (and partly to fulfill many of its requirements), the researcher must also ensure conformity with relevant institutional, legal, governmental, and other organizational regulations, guidelines, processes, and procedures.
