What is it?
Supervisory Approval is required on any request for reimbursement to an individual. A supervisor is defined as the individual to whom the payee directly reports or an individual at a level more senior than the payee.
Why is it important?
The payee’s supervisor needs to sign all claims, indicating they acknowledge that the payment is in accordance with the University business and policies.
This independent second check protects the University from fraud and liability. It also helps to ensure public funds are being appropriately expended.
Where do I find more information?
