Andrew Urquhart

Executive Director, Pension Fund Management

Andrew Urquhart joined Carleton University on Sept. 1, 2022 as the new Executive Director of the Pension Fund Management Office.

Andrew has experience in all facets of investment management with a specialization in private assets and a strong track record in the field of pension management. He comes to Carleton from NAV Canada, most recently as its Portfolio Manager (Head of) Private Investments, overseeing a $7.5 billion pension plan portfolio. Prior to NAV Canada, Andrew was an Infrastructure Investment Associate with Public-Private Partnerships Canada (PPP Canada).

In addition to holding a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa, Andrew also has a number of specialized designations, including as a Chartered Financial Analyst.

As Carleton’s Executive Director, Pension Fund Management, Andrew will lead the university’s pension fund management office and oversee the management of the $1.6 billion Retirement Plan investment portfolio and the $400 million Endowment Fund portfolio. Andrew will also be instrumental in implementing the university’s recently expanded Responsible Investing Policy.
