Brittney Anne is an interdisciplinary gender historian and feminist scholar who employs decolonial and critical race theories lenses. She intertwines a number of related theories and methodologies into her teaching and continually encourages others within her learning environments to develop their own understandings and applications. Both in the classroom and her research, Brittney Anne engages with intersectional theories in “real world” settings and presents complex materials in everyday language for scholars of all levels. In particular, she specializes in deconstructing commemorations, meta-narratives, popular histories and national myths in order to reveal (and break) power structures.
