Debra Graham earned her Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her expertise and research program are focused in the areas of portraiture, cultural citizenship as subject-making, and the representation of identities and power. Her current research project concerns Marie-Anne Collot, an eighteenth-century sculptor who created the portrait head of Peter the Great for the Bronze Horseman, an iconic equestrian monument that stands in Senate Square, St. Petersburg, Russia.
