Colleen is a recent graduate of Dr. Brown’s Gender and Crime Lab. Her interest in psychometrics and passion for equity in assessment for justice-involved women was what led her to the supervision of Dr. Brown. While a member of the lab, Colleen explored how various statistical weighting methods impacted predictive accuracy in a female-specific risk, need, and strength tool. Colleen has now begun working as a Psychometrician at an educational technology company in Toronto where she can continue to build on the statistical and psychometric knowledge that she acquired with Dr. Brown.

Research: Colleen has a general interest in data science, psychometrics, and female-perpetrated crime. Her most current research is the examination of statistical weighting algorithms to enhance predictive accuracy of forensic risk assessment instruments. She would like to continue researching the psychometric properties of risk assessment measures and gain more experience with data science practices.

Future Goals: Based on Colleen’s passion for research and data analysis as a whole, her professional goal is to have a research-focused career. She is always open to new experiences and opportunities to expand her research experience in any capacity!
