Leigh is currently a Director of Research and Strategic Planning for BC Corrections in Victoria, BC. In this role she leads and manages a diverse team of staff to complete research and analysis in support of Corrections Branch program and policy development goals. Additionally, she provides oversight of the use and interpretation of Branch data and business intelligence, and represents BC Corrections in corporate cross-ministry initiatives, and in cross-jurisdictional working groups.

Leigh completed her Ph.D. in Psychology under the supervision of Dr. Shelley Brown. She completed both her B.A. Honours (Double Major: Law & Psychology) and M.A. in Psychology at Carleton University. She is primarily interested in understanding gender differences in risk and protective factors among youthful female and male offenders. Other interests include risk assessment, the process of desistance, and the role that peers play in adolescent delinquency. Leigh received a Joseph-Armand Bombardier CGS Doctoral Scholarship (2011-2014).
