Join us for a one-hour orientation panel designed specifically for incoming PhD students. Featuring four experienced faculty members from different disciplines, this session will offer practical advice about how to navigate your doctoral journey. The discussion will focus on three key areas essential to early PhD success: understanding and navigating program milestones, building a strong and productive advisor/advisee relationship, and getting your dissertation project off the ground. Whether you’re feeling excited, uncertain, or both, this session will provide valuable insights to help you approach your PhD with greater clarity and confidence.
Panelists:
Dr. Jeffrey Erochko, Civil and Environmental Engineering
Dr. Kim Hellemans, Neuroscience
Dr. Michael Hildebrand, Neuroscience
Dr. Paul Keen, English Language and Literature
All graduate students are welcome. If you are a TA, this session counts toward voluntary paid training hours, provided that you are working as a TA in the term when the training takes place.
