The GeoEngineering Research Group is an advanced collaborative research centre in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Carleton University. The purpose of this group is furthering knowledge in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering through development of collaborative research projects with emphasis on interacting with industry.
We are involved in wide range of challenging research in different areas of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, geoenvironmental engineering, permafrost engineering, municipal and mine waste management, soil and foundation dynamics, earthquake engineering and urban geotechnical engineering. We also study geotechnical implications of climate change, develop soil and foundation improvement techniques for seismic design, and investigate geo-hazard mitigation techniques.
