Manuel was a Master of Applied Science (MASc) program at Carleton University. He was born in Peru and completed his undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at Carleton University as well. Manuel has been involved in the analysis of oil sand tailings since 2012 as a laboratory assistant. His work during his undergraduate studies granted him an opportunity to start his research in oil sand tailings in the GeoEnvironmental field at a Master’s level. He conducted his M.A.Sc research on geotechnical properties of oil sand tailings under the supervision of Dr. Paul Simms and Dr. Mohammad Rayhani.
He is currently working as a lead engineer in a mining company.
