Current project: Stabilization and stress distribution in municipal solid waste
Narges is currently pursuing a Master of Applied Science Degree in Civil Engineering at Carleton University where she received her B.Sc Degree on December 2011. She is working under the supervision of Professor Van Geel and Professor Rayhani to optimize the operation of bioreactor landfills operating in northern climates. She is currently focusing on conducting a numerical study to model the concept of hard inclusion and stress distribution. Modeling will be followed by developing a temperature-dependent waste stabilization/settlement model for bioreactor landfill and analysing the corresponding impacts on gas collection and leachate recirculation systems.
