Julie McClure’s two-decade journey across the worlds of venture investment, capital markets, and entrepreneurship has cemented her reputation as a transformative leader. As President of Alset AI Ventures, Julie spearheads strategic investments in AI-driven companies, combining her knack for identifying emerging trends with a deep understanding of what it takes to build sustainable growth. Her career, spanning Toronto, Vancouver, New York, and Los Angeles, reflects her ability to move seamlessly between global markets and industries.
Julie’s professional foundation was laid at Morgan Stanley in New York, where she advised Fortune 500 companies in the Mergers & Acquisitions division, shaping high-impact transactions in the consumer and retail sectors. She later served as Vice President in Institutional Equities, collaborating with top-tier Canadian hedge funds, mutual funds, and pension funds to present global equity investment opportunities tailored to their portfolios. At OMERS Private Equity (formerly Borealis Capital), Julie deepened her expertise by leading industrial investments and navigating the complexities of public-private partnerships.

As Managing Partner at Paterson Partners, a family venture capital office, she worked closely with early and growth-stage companies in technology, fintech, media, and consumer industries, helping founders secure funding and scale transformative ideas. Her experience as a two-time founder and CEO gives her a rare perspective on both sides of the capital-raising equation. From building new categories in health and wellness to reimagining a Wellness & Longevity division for a U.S. national medspa chain, Julie has consistently delivered innovative growth strategies. Beyond her professional achievements, Julie is deeply involved in academia and mentorship. As an Advisory Board Member at UCLA Anderson’s Price Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, she works closely with university innovation hubs to mentor and inspire the next generation of founders and leaders.
