Danie Maxelus, a fourth-year English literature student with a keen interest in entrepreneurship, actively participates in the 2024 Changemaker program, enhancing her project management skills and leadership qualities. Her passion extends to educating and raising awareness about challenges faced by less advantaged individuals. Throughout her studies, she focused on learning how to take action on social issues using media literacy, with a particular emphasis on promoting awareness of women’s issues.
Demonstrating dedication, Danie engages in a youth volunteer program that raises awareness about international social issues like poverty and injustice. This involvement extends to taking action by providing safe housing and participating in youth development initiatives.
Danie channels her creative skills into writing, editing, and publishing empowering stories, crafting poems, and currently mastering songwriting, copywriting, and digital design. She is committed to acquiring new entrepreneurial skills, intending to bridge her creative talents with the personal goal of creating a business model that empowers women in various areas of challenge within her community.
