Call for abstracts for presentation in a symposium on inclusive policies for resilient livelihood, social, environmental and legal protection of the refugees, internally displaced, and removed population

The University of Dar es. Salaam’s Research Chair on Forced Displacement (RCDF) is one of the twelve chairs
of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) located in the global South. The RCFD hosted in
the Department of Geography, College of the Social Sciences, is a multidisciplinary entity with members from
Geography, Law, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, Agriculture, Food Science, Business, Media and
focus on East Africa. The RCFD conducts research, seminars, outreach, symposium and policy dialogues on
issues of displacement and build capacity on research. The main focus is on people who are compelled to move
as a result of conflicts, climate disasters, or those removed to let for development projects; and mobile
populations such as nomadic pastoral communities looking for pastures and water.

Application Method:
The Research Chair on Forced Displacement is calling for papers for presentation in a symposium. The
Symposium is geared towards presenting policy relevant knowledge that is evidence-based and present voices and agency of the displaced. The papers guided by the theme: Inclusive Policies for Resilient Livelihood, Socio-
Ecological and Legal Protection of Refugees, Internally Displaced, and Removed Populations.

(i) Submission of abstracts of 150 words with names, affiliation and emails.

(iii) Deadline of the application is November 30, 2023
(iv) Information about acceptance of the papers to the Symposium will be provided on December 1st 2023.
