Ana María Diez holds a Master’s degree in Public Management from IESA. She holds a Diploma in Social Inclusion and Access to Rights from the OAS School of Government. She holds a Diploma in Migration and Human Rights from the National School of Migration of the Dominican Republic. She holds a Diploma in Social Market Economy from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. She holds a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from the International University of La Rioja, Spain.

Ana María has extensive experience in the third sector, having practiced law in Venezuela in the areas of criminal law and child protection. She teaches negotiation and conflict resolution and worked as a Humanitarian Protection Officer for Latin America and the Caribbean with HelpAge International.

She has been recognized with the Inspiring Business Leaders Recognition in the 2021 Social Leader category by Ernst & Young Venezuela, as well as the 2021 Analytical Woman Recognition and nominated for the 2022 IESA Alumni Award in the social category. She is also the winner of the 2024 McCall-Pierpaoli Humanitarian Award , previously awarded to Hillary Clinton and Chef José Andrés; and the 2017 Henry Ford Environmental Merit Award in Venezuela.

She is a research associate at Refugees International and represents CoalicionVE on the UNHCR Global Advisory Council of Organizations led by Displaced and Stateless People and an individual member of the UNHCR Refugee Advisory Group for Consultations on Resettlement and Complementary Measures until July 2025. She is a fellow-in-residence at the Global Raphael Lemkin Seminar for the Prevention of Genocide at the Auschwitz Institute for Genocide Prevention.

Since its founding, she has worked at CoalicionVE serving as Country Coordinator in Venezuela (2020), Coordinator of the Legislation Commission (2020-2022), Vice President (2021-2022) and now as President for the period 2022-2024.
