Andrew Sajja is founder of a Community Based Organization (Department of Possibility – DOP) which brings together Refugees and host community in Nakivale Refugee settlement for peaceful co-existence. After his flight from the Lord’s Resistance Army in Northern Uganda and living in an IDP camp, Andrew settled in Nakivale refugee settlement with an objective of helping those displaced by armed conflicts. His life goal is to create change in the lives of refugees and all those people who have been uprooted from their home countries due to war and persecution. He speaks five languages, and works as a community connector for Humanitarian organisations, a global change maker, Refugee and host community leadership activator and a member of Rotary Peace Club in Nakivale refugee settlement.
Sajja holds a Bachelor’s degree in planning and community Development (BPCD), Postgraduate degree in Public Administration and Management (PAM) and Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Management (MAPAM). MA thesis tittle: Enhancing capacity of community saving and Credit groups towards improvement of socioeconomic livelihoods of women in Nakivale Refugee Settlement: an action research. Sajja has also completed a certificate course in Migration Health at Makerere University, Kampala. His has a passion for developing talents through sharing experience and skills to transform society, Community engagements, Leadership, Conflict management and resolutions, people’s management.
