Dr. Francesca Ruisi holds a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies, a Master’s in Social and Institutional Communication Science and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Palermo. Ruisi is currently the Coordinator of the Professional Diploma in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies at the Centre for Strategic Studies, University of Jordan, where she is also an instructor of Media and Communication Skills in Humanitarian Situations. Also at the University of Jordan, Ruisi was a visiting Postdoc in the Department of Sociology within the Hermes Erasmus Mundus in 2014.

Beyond her work with LERRN, Ruisi is Project Manager for HOPES (Higher and further education opportunities and perspectives for Syrians) and an Assistant Co-Investigator with FOCUS (Forced Displacement of Refugees And Host-Community Solidarity.) Her main research interests are social network analysis and mixed social methods, migration and refugee studies, social media and digital methods.
