I am a first year Migration & Diaspora Masters student, specializing in Latin American & Carribean Studies. Driven by personal experiences as a Romanian migrant, I have developed a profound interest in labor migration and the displacement of vulnerable groups, particularly of womxn and children. My research interests focus on understanding the social, economic, and political factors that contribute to these issues, aiming to shed light on the challenges faced by these marginalized populations.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I have a strong affinity for Canadian and Latin American immigration and refugee laws. I recognize the importance of comprehending the legal frameworks that shape migration processes and am committed to studying the integration of migrant children into Canadian society. By examining the challenges faced by these children, I aim to find effective strategies for their successful inclusion.

I am also deeply interested in the experiences of womxn in the Colombian migrant crisis. I seek to understand the unique challenges faced by women affected by displacement, advocating for gender-responsive policies and support systems.

Outside of my academic pursuits, I have a strong passion for grassroots organizing, traveling, learning new languages, and exploring new cultures. I find happiness in immersing myself in different environments, broadening my perspectives, and fostering connections with people from diverse backgrounds. I also love listening and dancing to Latin music.

I look forward to collaborating with fellow academics, engage in meaningful research, and contribute to policy discussions that promote social justice and inclusivity.
