Javans Okhonjo Wanga is pursuing a Master of Arts (MA) in Forced Migration at Moi University, Kenya. He also obtained a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Moi University. His research interests are in refugee service delivery, advocacy, localization of humanitarian action, and refugee livelihoods. His Master’s thesis looks at the barriers to the economic inclusion of refugees in Nairobi, Kenya. Besides his role as a researcher with LERRN, Javans is a graduate student researcher at the Peace Institute and Centre for Civil Society at Moi University. He is an experienced social worker, having served as a caseworker and children’s officer with local organizations in Kenya. Javans is passionate about cooking, football/soccer, and travelling.
