Luiz is a doctoral student in Political Science at Carleton University. As a researcher, Luiz has analyzed the governance of migrants and those forcibly displaced across different regions of the world, spanning the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Since 2019, Luiz has supported several LERRN initiatives and sub-projects.
Outside academia, Luiz has experience working with refugees in Brazil and Canada, having worked with Caritas Internationalis and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
