Muna Omar

Muna Omar is Ethiopian but was born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where her parents met after fleeing violence in Oromia after crossing the sea from the Horn of Africa to the Arabian Peninsula. After her father was deported, her mother struggled to raise her in Saudi Arabia and the two eventually moved to Yemen. Recently, after living for seven years in Yemen, Muna was able to move to Addis Ababa. She has studied business management and obtained certificates and badges in public health and humanitarian leadership programs from John Hopkins and UNICEF, as well as other humanitarian agencies. In addition, she has worked for various NGOs and educational organizations in different capacities.
